5. Use of Cookies + Web Beacons

Amber Engine uses cookies to assist with making Your online experience more individualized. A cookie is a text file that is placed on the hard disk of Your computer by a web page server. Amber uses cookies to help Amber identify and track visitors, their usage of the POPs Website, and their website access preferences. Cookies are used for convenience and to save You time when You next visit Amber Engine. The purpose of a cookie is to tell the web server that You have returned to a specific page, so that when You visit the website again, the experience will be personalized. Information collected through cookies includes Your IP address, device type, any unique device identification numbers, type of browser (e.g., Google Chrome or Internet Explorer), operating system (e.g., Windows, Vista, Mac, OS, Android, etc.), Your browsing activities (e.g., pages viewed and referring / exit URLs), location information, and other usage information.

Amber Engine pages may contain electronic images known as web beacons that permit Amber to count users who have visited those pages and for other related statistics—(e.g., recording the popularity of certain Amber Engine content and verifying system and server integrity). Web beacons are not used to access Your personal information on Amber Engine; they are solely used to compile aggregated statistics concerning the use of Amber Engine. Web beacons collect only a limited set of information including a cookie number, the time and date of a page view, and a description of the page on which the web beacon resides.

We may use third party analytics tools to help Us measure traffic and usage trends for Amber Engine.  These tools collect information sent by Your browser or mobile device, including the pages You visit and other usage information.  Our website and Amber Engine may use Google Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Google, in order to better understand Your use of Our website and Amber Engine and how We can improve them. Google Analytics collects information such as how often users visit a website, what pages You visit when You do so, and what other websites You used prior to coming to such website. Google Analytics collects only the IP address assigned to You on the date You visit a website, rather than Your name or other identifying information. We do not combine the information collected through the use of Google Analytics with Your personal information. Although Google Analytics plants a permanent cookie on Your web browser to identify You as a unique user the next time You visit a website, the cookie cannot be used by anyone but Google. Google’s ability to use and share information collected by Google Analytics about Your visits to Client websites is restricted by the Google Analytics Terms of Use and the Google Privacy Policy. Google utilizes the data collected to track and examine the use of the Client websites, to prepare reports on its activities and share them with other Google services. Google may use the data collected on the Client websites to contextualize and personalize the ads of its own advertising network. To more fully understand how Google may use the data it collects on the Client websites, please review “How Google uses data when You use Our partners' sites or apps,” (located here or any successor URL).

We have no control over the collection or use of Your information on any Linked Site. We encourage You to read and understand the privacy practices of any Linked Sites that You visit.

9. Security

We employ industry recognized security safeguards to help protect the personal information that You have provided to Us from loss, misuse, or unauthorized alteration. All such data sent to Us is protected with technology that enables encryption of Your data. Amber’s web server supports the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) transaction protocol originally developed by Netscape and now largely accepted as an industry standard. The purpose of this encryption protocol is to keep confidential the information passed back and forth between a Web server and its users.

Nevertheless, no security system is impenetrable. We cannot guarantee that information that Users of Amber Engine may happen to transmit or otherwise supply will be totally secure. You agree to immediately notify Us of any breach of Amber Engine’s security, this Privacy Policy, or the Terms of Use of which you become aware.
